Senior Product Manager

Role Overview – A senior technical role leading the development and quality of low-voltage switchgear portfolio, combining hands-on electrical design expertise with product ownership, international supplier collaboration and the opportunity to build and lead an engineering team as the business grows.

This is a key senior appointment for Bex Group and represents a genuine opportunity to shape the future of the product function. The Senior Product Manager will take ownership of a critical and growing low-voltage switchgear portfolio and will play a central role in strengthening product development, technical governance and quality capability across the business.

As Bex Group continues to scale, this role is expected to evolve into a broader leadership position, with responsibility for building and developing a product and engineering team over time. The successful candidate will therefore combine strong hands-on technical capability with the credibility and ambition to lead, mentor and set technical standards.

The role sits at the intersection of engineering, product development and quality, working closely with Sales, Purchasing, Marketing and Finance teams across the UK, Ireland and China, as well as with global suppliers and manufacturing partners.

 

Key Responsibilities

▪ Lead the design and development of low-voltage switchgear products, ensuring full compliance with relevant standards and regulations

▪ Produce detailed electrical schematics, layouts and technical specifications

▪ Own the selection, integration and functional performance of power and control system components

▪ Provide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise across the organisation

▪ Work closely with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure products meet specification and performance requirements

▪ Manage new product development timelines and ensure design milestones are achieved

▪ Conduct and lead design reviews, identifying opportunities for optimisation and improvement

▪ Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design issues during development and testing

▪ Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including test plans, reports and specifications

▪ Liaise with global suppliers to support development, quality assurance and delivery

▪ Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture

▪ Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practice

▪ Live and promote BEX Group values in all aspects of the role

 

Candidate Profile – Essential Experience and Skills

▪ Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

▪ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical design of low-voltage switchgear

▪ Proven experience working with external manufacturing partners

▪ Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements

▪ Proficiency in CAD and electrical design tools

▪ Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office

▪ Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

▪ Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail

▪ Confident communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally and internationally
